Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawai‘i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds and 6! 6 bassinettes, the nonprofit hospital is Hawai‘i’s only specialty maternity, newborn and pediatric hospital. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and pediatric specialty clinics. With a dedicated team of more than 1,300 employees and 604 physicians, the hospital is home to Kapi‘olani Women’s Center, Kapi‘olani Breast Center and Kapi‘olani Women’s Cancer Center, the state’s only dedicated breast health and gynecological cancer centers. Kapi‘olani is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility that offers numerous community programs and services, such as the Kapi‘olani Child Protection Center and Sex Abuse Treatment Center. Through its affiliation with the University of Hawai‘i, it is home to the John A. Burns School of Medicine Pediatrics and OB/GYN residency programs.
Kapi‘olani Medical for Women & Children has a team of board-certifi! ed emergency medicine physicians and the only pediatric emerge! ncy department in the state of Hawai‘i, treating approximately 16,000 patients a year. The Emergency Room provides recognized excellence in emergency care to pediatric patients, as well as those needing specific women’s services. The emergency staff is trained to diagnose patients and refer them to other specialists within the hospital when necessary.
If you are a compassionate, sensitive caregiver and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment, you could be the ideal candidate for our Registered Nurse position at Kapi‘olani’s Emergency Room. You would provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care. You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. One (1) year recent registered nurse experience in an Emergency Department setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years recent registered nurse experience in an Emergency Department. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education, training or work experience. Pediatric Emergency Room or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience.
