Why does the job exist?

This position will coordinate meetings and provide administrative support to the Early Childhood Education and Care Advisory Council and its work groups.

How does it get done?

This position will prepare agendas, process per diem and travel; record minutes; assist with report development; develop operating procedures; monitor expenditures; process purchase requests; and communicate with internal and external partners

Who are the customers?

This position serves The Early Childhood Education and Care Advisory Council, Early Childhood Education and Care Department employees, and the children and families of New Mexico.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have some type of early childhood or social work setting; have excellent written and oral skills, be a critical thinker, be proficient in Microsoft Office products; and possess effective organizational skills.

Minimum Qualification

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
