We are seeking a Client Payroll Deduction Specialist to join our Voluntary Benefits Sales support team. To be successful in this role, you must have superior phone skills, be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, possess excellent problem solving abilities and be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while displaying strong multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines. Summary: The primary objective of this position is to effectively on-board our clients as it relates to their customized payroll deduction and billing set-up. This position will require a large amount of coordination with our Sales Implementation team as well as our billing customer service team. The position requires a service-savvy personality that helps strengthen our clients’ loyalty. This person should also be able to have consultative conversations with our Producer partners educating them on Trustmark’s value-added services.


Client Service Expert:

  • Schedules Payroll Deduction set-up calls with assigned clients regarding their customized payroll parameters
  • Conducts comprehensive Payroll Deduction set-up calls educating large and small clients on suitable options and automation selection, while evaluating clients’ capabilities and needs.
  • Confidently directs complex Payroll Deduction/Billing conversations while maintaining the highest level of customer-friendly temperament and positive demeanor.
  • Creates and distributes a Client Implementation Summary to clients and follows up on summary approval.
  • Maintains a consistent level of contact with Clients throughout the onboarding process providing education, updates, and direction

Internal Coordination:

  • Performs some data entry and effectively communicates the details of the payroll deduction set up information to appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates case details with Sales Implementation Managers, Key Account Managers, and Regional Sales Directors.
  • Effectively transitions a client to their Billing Specialist after on-boarding has been completed
  • Acts as a resource for other staff members within the client service function.

Broker/Enrollment company Key resource:

  • Works collaboratively with Broker Partners and Enrollment Firm Partners to efficiently on-board clients while proactively establishing essential requirements.
  • Acts as a Subject matter expert to our established and emerging producer partners.
  • May participate on implementation kickoff calls.

Qualifications include:

  • 3+ years of prior work experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • Analyze situations and critically think about information and data to make effective business decisions.
  • Project management skills (tracking progress, follow-up, scheduling, creating plans, documenting notes).
  • Deadline driven and ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Proficient Use of Access, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent Business Communication Skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience facilitating meetings and/or conference calls with multiple attendees.

Preferred but not required:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Insurance experience.
  • Billing experience.
  • Experience in collaborating with Third Party Administrators.
