Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawai‘i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds and 66! bassinettes, the nonprofit hospital is Hawai‘i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and children’s specialty clinics. With a dedicated team of more than 1,300 employees and 604 physicians, the hospital is home to Kapi‘olani Women’s Center, Kapi‘olani Breast Center and Kapi‘olani Women’s Cancer Center, the state’s only dedicated breast health and gynecological cancer centers. Kapi‘olani offers numerous community programs and services, such as the Kapi‘olani Child Protection Center and Sex Abuse Treatment Center, and through our affiliation with the University of Hawai‘i, we are home to the John A. Burns School of Medicine Pediatrics and OB/GYN residency programs.
Our Perioperative Services department provides full support thr! oughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanni! ng ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care services include identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient’s health before, during and after a surgical procedure.
As the Surgical Technologist, you will join our award-winning Surgery team and help to provide life-changing health care interventions to our patients. You will perform surgical scrub duties and maintain sterile techniques for all surgical procedures, as well as prepare the operating room, equipment and instruments for surgery while maintaining aseptic techniques. We are looking for someone with exceptional patient care and organizational skills, ability to carry out tasks effectively with minimal supervision and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Certified Surgical Technologist with the National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assistant (NBSTSA).
Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year surgical technologist experience.
