Description: Kamehameha Schools is presently looking of Extended Day Teacher, Preschool (Temporary) right now, this career will be dwelled in Hawaii. This is a temporary one-year part-time position (25 hours per week) until May 2014 with the possibility of being extended for another year, depending on after s! chool enrollment and program assessment.
Instructional: Provides daily classroom instruction including appropriate interactions with students, large and small group instruction and observations. Supervision: Supervises student behavior independantly using appropriate early childhood behavior management techniques, and following early childhood health and safety guidelines. Program/Clerical Support: Provides program and clerical support through planning snack menus; maintaining attendance and other records; and ordering and maintaining materials and supplies. Classroom Preparation: Prepares materials needed for a safe and healthy indoor and outdoor classroom environment, including preparing snacks daily, sanitizing serving and eating areas, and maintaining classroom centers and materials and equipment. Staff Development: Participates in workshops and inservices. Achieves and maintains CDA certification or equivalent educational qualifications.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:! - Knowledge of and sensitivity to pre-kindergarten children. - Have good interpersonal skills. - Able to organize a high volume of work activities. - Able to lift children up to 30 pounds. - Have good written and verbal communication skills. - Basic computer skills. - First aid/pediatric CPR certifications or ability to obtain appropriate certification within 6 months of employment. - Have a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED POSITION REQUIREMENTS: - Knowledge of and sensitivity of Hawaiian Culture and age appropriate Christian values. - Experience working with at-risk children and/or families.
