Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawai‘i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds! and 66 bassinettes, the nonprofit hospital is Hawai‘i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and children’s specialty clinics. With a dedicated team of more than 1,300 employees and 604 physicians, the hospital is home to Kapi‘olani Women’s Center, Kapi‘olani Breast Center and Kapi‘olani Women’s Cancer Center, the state’s only dedicated breast health and gynecological cancer centers. Kapi‘olani offers numerous community programs and services, such as the Kapi‘olani Child Protection Center and Sex Abuse Treatment Center, and through our affiliation with the University of Hawai‘i, we are home to the John A. Burns School of Medicine Pediatrics and OB/GYN residency programs.
The Family Birth Center at Kapi‘olani is dedicated to ! providing quality, comprehensive and family-centered obstetric! al care, specializing in high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery. This department is composed of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum and Nursery units and provides tertiary, level III perinatal services as well as obstetrical care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients. The team of professional staff at the Family Birth Center supports and educates patients and families to facilitate the optimal health of both mothers and newborns. Kapi‘olani is recognized as Hawai‘i's leader in the care of women and children and the major teaching hospital for the state’s OB/GYN programs.
As the Surgical Technologist, you will join our award-winning Surgery team and help to provide life-changing health care interventions to our patients. You will perform surgical scrub duties and maintain sterile techniques for all surgical procedures, as well as prepare the operating room, equipment and instruments for surgery while maintaining aseptic techniques. W! e are looking for someone with exceptional patient care and organizational skills, ability to carry out tasks effectively with minimal supervision and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Post-high school vocational training. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Certified Surgical Technologist with the National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assistant (NBSTSA). Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program.
Preferred Qualifications: Surgical technologist certification. One (1) year surgical technologist experience.
