Kapiâolani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawaiâiâs leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 bed! s and 66 bassinets, the nonprofit hospital is Hawaiâiâs only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and childrenâs specialty clinics. With a dedicated team of more than 1,300 employees and 604 physicians, the hospital is home to Kapiâolani Womenâs Center, Kapiâolani Breast Center and Kapiâolani Womenâs Cancer Center, the stateâs only dedicated breast health and gynecological cancer centers. Kapiâolani offers numerous community programs and services, such as the Kapiâolani Child Protection Center and Sex Abuse Treatment Center, and through our affiliation with the University of Hawaiâi, we are home to the John A. Burns School of Medicine Pediatrics and OB/GYN residency programs.
At Kapiâolani Medical Center for Women & Children, the ! Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides continuous acu! te care to newborns of up to three months, including meeting the complex psychosocial needs of both the child and their family. Nursing and medical support staff in the NICU work with the Neonatology team to care for premature babies and assist in pediatric surgeries, providing care to newborn infants with cardiovascular and/or respiratory disease and infants requiring treatments for various diagnoses including infection and surgery. Support and education is delivered to patients and family in an atmosphere that promotes bonding of the family unit.
If you are a compassionate, sensitive caregiver and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment, you could be the ideal candidate for our Registered Nurse position. You would provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nur! se responsibilities. Location: Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children Work Schedule: Day/Night - 12 Hours Work Type: Full Time Regular FTE: 0.900000 Bargaining Unit: Hawaii Nurses Association Exempt: No Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawaiâi Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR) CPR cards. One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Newborn Intensive Care unit (NICU).
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelorâs degree in Nursing or related field. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. More than two (2) years recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Newborn Intensive Care unit (NICU).
