Our coding professionals are committed to the management of coded health care information in order to maintain the most accurate reimbursement, tracking and reporting for the organizat! ion’s medical and billing records. Activities include the pr! ocessing of billing codes for professional medical services and communication with physicians and Revenue Management staff to ensure that the transfer of information is accurate and secure and in compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
If you can appreciate accuracy and efficiency in Physician Billing, you could be our next Physician Coding Manager. In this role, you will manage all aspects of physician coding and audit operations for Physician Billing; collaborate with Health Information Charge Support Systems to manage the resolution of transaction coding edits for both hospital and professional billing; and manage professional reimbursement review activities. We are looking for someone with exceptional organizational and managerial skills, extensive experience with information and data management protocol and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people. Hours Work Type: Full Time Regular FTE: 1.000000 Bargaining Unit: Non-Bargaining Exempt: Yes Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Health care related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Five (5) years experience as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in roles and projects of progressively greater scope and responsibility to include training staff and physicians on charging and coding. Experience with insurance requirements and regulations. Knowledge and application of payor contracts and physician services. Knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding and International Classification of Diseases 9th edition (ICD-9) requirements and medical terminology. Experience with electronic medical record systems and related business processes or workflows.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous managerial experience in Patient Registration and/or health care. Experience in coding compliance! and EPIC and IDX.
