Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Kapi’olani Medical
Center for Women and Children.
Kapi’olani is well recognized as Hawai’i's leader in the
care of women and children. As the major teaching
hospital for the state’s OB/GYN program, Kapi'olani has
a highly trained team of physician Intensivists, nurses,
technologists and therapists that share a Intensive
understanding of women's and children’s needs. The NICU
at Kapi’olani is dedicated to providing quality,
comprehensive, and family-oriented care for all patients
with a goal to optimize health and well-being. The NICU
provides continuous acute care to neonates including
complex p! sychosocial needs of both the neonate and their
family. Se! rvices are provided to premature and full-term
newborn infants with cardiovascular and/or respiratory
disease, infants requiring treatments for various
diagnoses including infection and surgery. Support and
education is delivered to patients and family while
providing an atmosphere that promotes bonding of the
family unit.
The PICU is dedicated to providing quality,
comprehensive, and family-oriented care for all patients
with a goal to optimize health and well-being. They
provide excellent clinical intervention to the pediatric
patient requiring intensive care or advanced pediatric
(step down) care while supporting patients and families
through the Intensive Care experience. Services are
provided to patients with the most acute medical
requirements, including organ failure or patients at
risk of developing organ failure. Support and education
is delivered to patients and family while providing an
atmos! phere that promotes bonding of the family unit.
This is a temporary Registered Nurse travel assignment.

Straub Clinic & Hospital and Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
Minimum Qualifications: Must meet education requirements
for Hawai’i state licensing. Current Hawai’i RN license.
Current BLS/HCP card. NRP certification. PALS/PEARS
certification. Must have at least one year of recent
registered nurse experience in a Newborn Intensive Care
Unit (NICU) and/or a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
(PICU).
Preferred: More than t! wo years recent registered nurse
experience in a Level III NICU and! /or PICU. Bachelor's
degree in Nursing or related field. ACLS. PALS.
