Kapi'olani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty
physician group dedicated to caring for Hawai'i's women
and children, through excellence in academics and
clinical care. The group is comprised of over 70
specialists covering newborn to women's health services
that includes Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology,
Pediatrics, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatrics
Orthopedics, Pediatric Urology, and many other
specialists. KMS has partnered with Kapi'olani Medical
Center for Women & Children to provide pediatric and
women's specialty care. KMS offers highly specialized
care available only at Kapi'olani, and builds community
support for providing these services within Hawai'i
while operating exclusively for charitable, scientific
and educational purposes.
The Medical Assistant performs a wide variety of patient
care activities rendering ! quality patient care to
patients of all ages in accordance! with standards of
practice appropriate to the training and abilities of a
medical assistant.

outpatient clinics & service sites, and over 1,300

Minimum Qualifications: Post High School
Vocational/Specialized Training. Completion of a medical
assistant program and externship and/or equivalent
experience. Current BLS/HCP card. Must be able to
complete departmental competency assessment by
conclusion of orientation period. One year back office
medical assistant experience in an outpatient clinic,
physician’s offi! ce, or related experience.
Preferred: Medical assistant certification. AAMA
certification.
