Kapi’olani is well recognized as Hawai’i's leader in the care of women and children. As the major teaching hospital for the state’s Pediatric and OB/GYN program, Kapi'olani has a highly trained transport team of nurses, respiratory therapists and physician specialists that share a special understanding of pediatric population. The Transport Team provides services to patients for a higher level of care by transporting via fixed wing or ground transport from a referring facility to an accepting facility. This equality driven and caring team incorporates evidence-based practice and state of the art technologies in their multidisciplinary approach to care. The Respiratory Therapist â€" Transport functions as a member of the transport team by assisting the transport nurse and/or physician to affect safe patient care during inter-island air and ground transport. Provides cardio-respiratory related services and serves as a technical resource on all aspects of respiratory care. Hawai‘i Pacific Health is Hawai‘i’s largest health care system including a network of four hospitals, 44 outpatient clinics & service sites, and over 1,300 dedicated physicians across the state. Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Must meet education requirements for registration. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Certified Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Current BLS, NRP, PALS, and ACLS certification (obtained during orientation period). Successful completion of KMCWC Transport orientation program. Three years respiratory care including two years NICU/PICU or related experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field. Transport experience.
