232-bed facility
10% admission rate, moderate acuity
15 ED beds
EMP physicians care for all adult patients (11,000 visits annually), as well as some pediatric ED patients.
Pediatric ED staffed by University of Hawaii physicians
EMS Base Station
24-hour radiology services, MRI, CT and ultrasound
The state’s only pediatric emergency department and pediatric intensive care unit.
Neonatal intensive care with specialists on-site 24/7
EMR documentation and dictation services
Skill & Education Requirements
Emergency Medicine Residency Training
Board Eligible/Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by ABEM or AOBEM
Proficient in basic and critical emergency medicine skills
ED Shift & Job Details
Twelve-hour shifts
2 shifts per day; single coverage
Attire: Labcoats
Attendance required at monthly EMP and hospital ED Business meeting
