Remote Payroll and Benefits Coordinator [United States]


 

We are currently seeking a Remote Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our team. The Payroll & Billing Coordinator is responsible for compiling employee time and payroll data, being the primary benefits contact, and for managing leaves of absences. We are looking for a multi-skilled professional who will ensure accurate processing and recording of wages across several states. Approximately 70% of the time will be devoted to payroll functions. Pay Range for this role is between $22 - $25/hour, depending on relevant experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Perform daily payroll department operations.
  • Manage data workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile payroll file prior to transmission and ensure any errors are addressed.
  • Manage rate changes and terminations in SalesForce.
  • Follow-up with employees and managers regarding time sheet issues, missing time sheets, or other payroll related questions.
  • Become an Administrator for the timekeeping system, Databasics.
  • Manage the vacation and sick accruals for all employees and ensure they are always correct.
  • Process manual payroll checks as needed.
  • Represent the payroll department in various initiatives as needed.
  • Assist employees with benefit questions and open enrollment.
  • Manage the Open Enrollment process.
  • Manage leaves of absence (FMLA, Military, Personal).

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Must be detail oriented, possess excellent follow-up skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team members across all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to provide world class customer service.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving processes.


WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:

  • Associate degree in business or equivalent form a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Prior payroll experience a plus.
  • Previous experience with Databasics and/or Salesforce software a plus.
  • Familiar with multi-state payroll functions.
  • Prior experience with electronic payroll processing systems.

Working Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment (or work from home). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
