Job Description


An exciting opportunity in our Hong Kong office is available for an experienced, creative, and motivated Sustainability Consultant to deliver projects, grow your career and connect with the local and national team. You will be collaborating with the best in the business, undertaking technical responsibility and delivery of Building Physics and Sustainability output on projects across various sectors, including design and analysis on building physics, sustainable building design, and engineering projects.

The role includes delivering sustainable and low-energy design projects in the built environment working closely with clients to help them predict, assess and improve their sustainability performance through a collaborative and well-organized approach.

The Inhabit Building Physics and Sustainability team is internationally distributed across Australia and Asia, and is location independent, enabling access to projects across Australia, Asia, Europe, Americas and the Middle East based on skillset and capabilities. We provide technical advice across all stages of the project lifecycle, from business case and advisory to sustainability and carbon strategy to detailed modelling, construction, and post-occupancy. This means that we have a focus on real-world results guided by early phase quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Typical activities for this role include:

  • Support and coordinate the ESD team to complete sustainability and green building certification projects;
  • Project coordination and client/project team liaison;
  • Conduct calculations, computer modelling, and prepare professional consultancy reports, proposal or presentation;
  • Desktop research on sustainability and green building technology;
  • Carry out site survey, inspection, and on-site measurements; and
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Degree holder in engineering/ science related to green building, civil & environmental, sustainability, building services, mechanical & electrical or equivalent;
  • Minimum 2 year of related experience in green building assessment, sustainability assessment consultancy services;
  • Knowledge and experience of BEAM Plus. Candidates with professional qualification of BEAM Pro (NB), (BI) would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge and experience of LEED, WELL and CGBL and professional qualifications of LEED AP, WELL AP and CGBL Member would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge and experience in relevant computer modelling for green building design (e.g., Energy, Daylighting and Lighting, CFD, Thermal Comfort, LCA, etc.);
  • Experience of working in multi-discipline teams;
  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Be motivated, confident, organized, efficient and effective worker and able to work independently;
  • Excellent customer and proactive mindset; good and effective communication and presentation skills;
  • Proficient computer skills and abilities in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc; and
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Sustainability Consultant.
