University of Hawaii Department of Pediatrics and Hawaii Pacific Health is seeking a board certified/eligible child abuse physician or board certified ! pediatrician with child abuse training and experience for a full time position. The medical director will be responsible for providing out-patient services and evaluations to pediatric victims of abuse and in-patient consultative services to pediatric victims of abuse in all areas of the hospital. The medical director of the centers will provide leadership in assuring safety, appropriateness and quality of services provided by the centers which include oversight of the physicians providing on call services to sexual assault victims of all ages.
The director will be a member of and work in coordination with the division of community pediatrics to develop and implement education for pediatric residents and medical students in child abuse and neglect. Research opportunities exist but are not central to the position.
The successful candidate will have completed a fellowship in child abuse or will have at least five years of extensive experience in child abuse ! assessment, outstanding collaborative skills and a strong inte! rest in multidisciplinary work and community outreach.
