We are currently seeking a full-time Certified Medical Technician (Assistant) - Pediatrics at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Responsibilities:
The duties include but are not limited to the following:
Provides, patient care to beneficiaries.
As part of the nursing team, uses the nursing process to provide care for the beneficiaries. Monitors and records physiological measurements.
Orients new patients to the hospital environment.
Admits, discharges, and transfers patients as directed.
Observes, reports, and records observations in patient progress notes and team conference.
Performs portions of medical treatment, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
Records treatments and procedures rendered, and observes effects.
Identifies patient problems and assists in developing and evaluating patient care plan.
Prepares and administers medications under nurse or physician supervision.
Adheres! to infection control procedures including use of personal pro! tective equipment, disposal of waste, and aseptic technique.
Performs central sterile supply duties. Assembles, operates, and maintains therapeutic equipment. Performs basic life support and triage in emergency situations.
Performs paraprofessional portions of preventative health assessments and physical examinations. Performs medical records reviews in order to determine medical needs.
Maintains outpatient medical records.
Prepares and submits administrative reports.
Attends in-service training in new procedures, techniques, and equipment.
The Certified Medical Technician (Assistant) - Pediatrics will generally work between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:
Education. Completion of high school with courses in general science, biology, psychology, and chemistry. Completion of a medical assisting program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Pr! ograms (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES); or certified through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA); or the American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Registered Medical Assistants (RMA); or equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience (i.e., military training).
Certification. Have and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Experience. Experience performing functions such as care and treatment of patients; operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment; properly administering oral and parenteral medications; care and treatment of patients; operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment; conducting subprofessional portions of physical examinations; or assisting in medical treatment of patients.
Experience. Have at least 12 months of medical assistant experience within the last 36 months.
Must possess knowledge in the following:
Must has a knowl! edge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology; nursing theory, techniques and procedures; team nursing; patient needs; emergency medical treatment to include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, aseptic technique, medical ethics, and legal aspects; prescribed drugs and their administration; operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment, risk management, disaster preparedness, and transportation of sick and wounded; vaccination procedures; methods of properly administering intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections; composition of various vaccines; and pharmacology of various drug groups; computer operations in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
